Homemade Pastrami All Over Chicago

The thought of turkey sandwiches for the next few days doesn’t seem all that appealing, which is why I’m thankful for the city’s myriad (homemade) pastrami options. There are several places now brining, curing and smoking their own briskets, much like they do in New York or Montreal.

Next time you head back to Detroit might I recommend the Bread Basket chain of delis. My favorite is the 17 & 1/2. They have 10 locations across Metro Detroit. I am partial to their Royal Oak location.

Then when you get to downtown Cleveland I recommend Slyman’s Deli. Better get there by 11:30 AM if you want a seat.

Want to get some good corned beef, pastrami, or roast beef in Chicago wholesale I recommend City Foods at 4230 South Racine.

You want good steaks wholesale in Chicago head to Allen Brothers at 3737 South Halstead.

I was a trucker serving the meat business in Chicago and Detroit for many years but I have been retired since 2010.
