Win Two Tickets To Baconfest

Tickets to Chicago’s 2012 Baconfest sold out in less than four hours, but you still have a few chances to snag some tickets for the April 14th event.  You could write a poem about bacon, or just keep reading here for details on another cool contest.

Baconfest is a celebration of all things pork belly-related, held annually at the University of Illinois at Chicago Forum.  More than 100 restaurants, chefs and vendors will be sharing their bacon-based cuisine with more than 3,000 guests for a Lunch Session, from 12:30 – 3:00 p.m., as well as a Dinner Session, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.  Best of all, The Greater Chicago Food Depository will receive a donation of $40,000 from ticket sales this year.  Additionally, the event will feature a food drive in support of the organization’s work – guests who bring food donations or donate money will receive raffle tickets for prizes from sponsors.

Even though tickets sold out long ago, I realize some of you hardcore bacon fanatics are just itching to go. So here’s all you have to do: just upload a short video on YouTube – providing me the link in the Comments section below – showing me why you deserve to go. It could be a poem, a sonnet, a song or just a monologue on what bacon means to you, and why you would appreciate the free passes more than anyone else. Most convincing entry wins not only two tickets to the April 14th event, but a bonus t-shirt and hat to boot! Contest begins now, and will end March 26th at 5 p.m. I’ll announce the winner here on the blog on Monday, April 2.

Good luck!
