Which Beers do Chicagoans Drink (and Where)?

With Chicago Craft Beer Week going on until May 24th, the folks at Lakeshore Beverage decided to crunch some numbers. They analyzed a year’s worth of sales data from thousands of bars, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, and anywhere else that sells beer. First, they determined the averages for consumption of each style of beer throughout the entire city. Then, they compared the Chicago-wide averages to the percentage of one style of beer sold in one neighborhood, which allowed them to find what styles of beer that neighborhood proportionally prefers. Here’s what they found, laid out in a cool info graphic:

They’ve also provided me with this handy beer finder tool, in case you really want to drill down the data. Get out there and try some craft beer this week. Cheers.
