As Birds Fly South, Jive Turkey Lands in Chicago

If that turkey dinner order hasn’t made its way onto your agenda just yet, consider a walk on the fried side. Brooklyn-based  Jive Turkey has now set up shop in Chicago.

Though still in its infancy here, customers can drop by Jive Turkey’s pop-up shop on the South Side to pick up a fresh one, instead of having it shipped. The company also ships nationwide, so fans on the East Coast need not be in short supply this month.

Christmas may have 12 days and Jive Turkey matches that with its 12 flavors – or more. Peach bourbon, Jamaican jerk, honey pecan and cranberry red wine are among the pie-worthy bastes for these succulent birds. Thankfully, Thanksgiving dinners are notorious for elastic waistbands gracing the table. To get a little preview, try attending one of the tastings at their new pop-up location in Chicago on Nov. 10 or Nov. 17, or visit their website for more information.

Jive Turkey also supplies sides such as green beans, cornbread dressing and yam brulee. But one thing is for certain – ain’t nothin’ like a fried turkey.
