La Creperie Turns 40, Rolls Back The Clock On Prices

Before The Magic Pan and other crepe-focused restaurants jumped on the bandwagon in the 1970s, Germain Roignant was already pouring and flipping in Lakeview.

Originally opened in 1972, La Creperie is considered the oldest family-owned French creperie in the United States with a menu that specializes in a variety of both sweet and savory crepe dishes.

As a way of saying “thanks” to its loyal customers over the past four decades, the restaurant has been celebrating all week with specials.

Today, the restaurant celebrates “La Creperie Day” by rolling back prices to 1972. Crepes will range in price from 40 cents to $3.50 (11:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; cash only). Bon appétit!
