“The Modern Classic” A Fundraiser With Chicago’s Best
This Wednesday, August 5th, some of Chicago’s top toques (do chef even wear toques anymore?) are gathering for a great cause in West Town. “The Modern Classic” is an event raising money for Easter Seals of Metropolitan Chicago, and you can see pretty quickly the results of having the Boka Restaurant Group’s Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz serving as co-chairs. This year’s event – taking place at Morgan Manufacturing (401 N. Morgan), will feature a dozen of the city’s best talents, including: Grant Achatz, Paul Kahan, Stephanie Izard, Bill Kim (Urban Belly, Belly Shack), Giuseppe Tentori (GT Fish & Oyster), Paul Virant (Vie, Perennial Viran), Chris Pandel (Balena, Formento’s), Lee Wolen (Boka) and Mark Hellyar (Momotaro).
At the event, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a walk-around tasting, sampling each chef’s take on a classic dish with a modern twist. An exclusive VIP meet-and-greet with the chefs will take place prior to the event, from 5:30 p.m. — 6:30 p.m. with the chef’s tasting lasting from 6:30 p.m. — 9:30 p.m. VIP tickets are $250 and include access to the private meet-and-greet and chef’s tasting. Tickets for the chef’s tasting are $150. For additional information or to purchase tickets, please visit: http://www.easterseals.com/chicago/.
