WhiskeyFest Hits Town

Tickets to Chicago’s WhiskeyFest may be sold out tonight, but there’s still a lot in store for whiskey fans around Chicago this weekend.

Delilah’s has had whiskey specials each night of the week, but the big event is the official WhiskeyFest after-party tonight at 10 p.m., no tickets necessary. The party features many guest distillers and guest bartenders Preston and Julian Van Winkle.  Drink specials are $3 for Maker’s Mark Bourbon. If that’s not enough, Delilah’s Upstairs is hosting the Black Grouse Experience soul dance party.

The Twisted Spoke is also celebrating WhiskeyFest with batch-brewed beer on tap and guest distillers, including representatives from Saint George Spirits.

For those drinkers lucky enough to have scored a ticket to Whiskeyfest, the after party might be a bit too much after having had the  chance to sample more than 250 different types of whiskey from around the world.  This includes some of the finest and rarest single malt, blended Scotch, Irish, bourbon, Tennessee, Japanese and Canadian, all at the Grand Ballroom in the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

For those interested in learning more about the drinks they are sampling, master blenders and distillery managers will be on hand and will be conducting educational seminars.

In addition to getting a taste of international whiskies, the event features a never-ending gourmet buffet with coffee, tea, water and soft drinks.  Other high-end drinks, including rum and vodka, will also be available.

Tickets for the 12th annual WhiskeyFest may have gone fast, but you can sign up to be one of the first when next year’s tickets become available.
