Cookbook Giveaway Day

Don't you want to cook like Vongerichten and Bittman?
Don’t you want to cook like Vongerichten and Bittman?

Over the course of many years in the business (about 18, give or take) I’ve accumulated a number of cookbooks. Sometimes, they flood in, like during the Fall drive to get publicity before the holidays. Other times, it’s a trickle, like right around now. But I’ve come to the realization that, while I do love having certain books on hand for reference or inspiration, I simply have too many of them. Which is why, over the next several weeks (possibly months), I’m going to be giving them away, one by one, every Thursday.

All you have to do is tell me – in 50 words or less – why you would like this week’s book, by entering in the COMMENTS section right here on the blog. This week’s book is Simple To Spectacular: How to Take One Basic Recipe to Four Levels of Sophistication, by New York City chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and New York Times writer Mark Bittman. Extra credit for rhymes and haikus, and the deadline is tomorrow (Friday) at 5 p.m. I’ll announce the winner over the weekend. Please be sure to include your email, so I can notify you if you win, and get your address so I can send you the book. Good luck, and happy cooking this summer.
