For the last three years, Rick Bayless and I have set aside a week in early December to talk about some of our favorite cookbooks from the past year. There were some dynamite books released in 2017, so on this edition of The Feed Podcast, we first talked to Chef Paul Kahan (avec, Blackbird, The Publican, Big Star) about his first book from his fantastic West Loop restaurant, The Publican. Then I sat down with Gail Simmons, who has a great new book out, “Bringing it Home.” Finally, Rick and I share some of our favorites and discuss why we think they deserve your attention.
