Taste of the Nation Welcomes All Ages This Year

Chicago’s influential chefs and bartenders are joining forces at Navy Pier Ballroom this Sunday, October 11th, for No Kid Hungry‘s annual fundraiser. But this year’s Taste of the Nation is taking a more family-friendly approach. Sure, there’ll be dozens of chefs like Josh Kulp and Christine Cikowski of Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Johnny Anderes of The Kitchen and Joey Beato of Community Tavern, as well as some of the city’s best bartenders, thanks to wine and cocktail curation by Lynn House and Natalia Cardenas of Southern Wine & Spirits. But there will also be some younger food fans (just not in the Goose Island-sponsored beer garden).

Children ages 5 to 17 and under-21 adults can join the festivities for $35; the $75 under-21 VIP ticket also features a bake sale and interactive chef demos. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit’s mission of ending childhood hunger, as well as helping kids and their families understand how to live a healthy lifestyle on a budget. I’ll be there with my family, so hope to see you.
