Windy City Smokeout This Weekend

Get out the wet naps. For the third year in a row, in what has become a new tradition for low-and-slow aficionados in the Midwest, the Windy City Smokeout is blowing into town July 10, 11 and 12. Located on Grand Avenue near the Chicago River, the BBQ and country music festival features an impressive lineup of award-winning country music artists, BBQ offerings from some of the best pitmasters in the country and an impressive selection of craft beer.

This year’s participants include Bub City, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (the upstate NY company just launched a store here, in Lincoln Park), Hogpalooza (Arkansas), Pappy’s Smokehouse (St. Louis), The Salt Lick (Austin), Ubons (Yazoo City, MS), 3-time World BBQ Champion Myron Mixon (Georgia) plus local favorites Smoque, Lillie’s Q and Chicago Q.
