Kimchi Weekend

DSC_0012While a lot of my friends will be tearing in teriyaki and thick udon noodles this weekend at the 58th annual Ginza Festival in Lincoln Park, I’ll be sweating through more kimchi than I can possibly imagine, at the Chicago Korean Festival on the city’s far north side. Kimchi will be the highlight, of course, in both competition as well as how-to classes. Several local cooks will be turning out their finest dukbokki and bibimbop, and yours truly will be talking about the Korean food scene in Chicago at 2 p.m. Saturday. Come say hello! It’s near the Northeastern University campus, roughly 3600 – 3800 W. Bryn Mawr. You can always hit both festivals, as I most likely will, since Ginza runs today through Sunday, and the Korean Fest runs Sat. and Sun. from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
