Seven Chefs and A Bartender Pop-up Inside Fat Rice
Cochon 555 stops in Chicago next week for a punch competition at Chicago Gourmet on Saturday the 26th and a porky fête on Sunday the 27th. To kick off the weekend, Chef Abraham Conlon welcomes six chefs from Chicago and beyond to his home at Fat Rice in Avondale for an after-hours Asian Speakeasy on Friday night. The $125 ticket includes one course each from Conlon and the 2012 Heritage BBQ King of Porc Jason Vincent (formerly of Nightwood), in addition to admired chefs from Milwaukee, Washington D.C., New York, and Toronto. Drinks smartly flow from Elad Zvi of The Broken Shaker featuring liquid inspiration from Breckenridge Distillery in Colorado. The entire evening devotes itself to the lively cuisines – Chinese, Sichuan, Korean, Thai, and Japanese – whose flavors have animated restaurant menus right here in the U.S.
Given Fat Rice’s small space, only 40 tickets are available here.
